No, the family of Poli Glow products are designed to restore a faded or dull finish. It is NOT a maintenance product. Do not use them on a new Boat, RV, or Automobile.

A 32 ounce bottle of Poli Glow willcover approximately a 30-32 foot boat or RV, with 4-6 coats of Poli Glow. Poli Glow is applied in thin coats, allowing it to go a long way.
Can poli glow be applied over wax?
No, all wax build up must be removed before applying Poli Glow. The surface must be clean and uniform in color.
Why do i need to use poli prep first?
Poli Prep is designed to remove any wax, light stains, or light oxidation from the surface. It’s important that the surface is clean, dull, and uniformed before you apply the Poli Glow.
will poli prep remove wax or oxidation?
Yes. Poli Prep will remove wax and light oxidation. If you have heavy oxidation or a darker colored surface, it’s best to use Poli Ox along with the Poli Prep to insure that all oxidation has been removed.
what type of sprayer do you suggest using with poli prep?
A trigger sprayer is ideal, which can be found in the cleaning aisle or gardening section of most stores.
what is poli glow applied with?
We suggesting using our micro fiber mitt applicator to apply Poli Glow. However, we do still offer the chamoix applicator, which can be used with a pole for those hard to reach areas.
can poli glow be applied over vinyl decals?
Yes, Poli Glow is safe to use over decals or graphics. In fact, if you have any new stickers that you would like to apply to the surface you need to do so before using Poli Glow. You cannot apply any decals to the fiberglass once Poli Glow has been applied.
can poli glow be used over aluminum?
Poli Glow cannot be used on bare aluminum. However, it can be used on painted aluminum.
Is poli glow applied like a wax?
No, there is no "wipe on, wipe off." Apply Poli Glow by wiping in one direction from top to bottom or from side to side. You should work in a small section, (about 4-6 foot) complete that section,with four to six coats, and then move to the next section. DO NOT apply Poli Glow in circular motions.
should i apply poli glow over the entire surface one coat at a time or should i work in smaller areas?
It is best to work in smaller sections. For example, work in a 4’x6’ area at a time. Apply a minimum of 4 to 6 coats and move on to the next section.
how long does it take for poli glow to dry?
Each coat dries in approximately 1-2 minutes, depending on the temperature. Please note that the minimum temperature for application is 55°F.
what can i use on my non-skid surfaces?
Poli Glow can be very slippery when wet. We recommend using the Poli Grit Kit for sealing and protecting the non-skid areas.
how often should i re-apply poli glow?
Poli Glow is not a one-time application. It does need to be reapplied every 10-12 months, depending on the latitude in which you live. We have seen it last over two years in New York and about 10-12 months when exposed to the Florida sun. With routine maintenance coats, Poli Glow can last up to 8 years and then it needs to be completely removed and reapplied.
do i use poli prep again before i do my maintenance coats?
No, Poli Prep is only necessary when preparing the surface prior to using Poli Glow or in the removal of Poli Glow. Use a mild dish soap to clean the fiberglass before applying the maintenance coats and avoid using boat or car soaps as most of them have wax in it.
how do i remove poli glow?
To remove Poli Glow use Poli Strip Liquid Concentrate. Be sure to always wear vinyl or plastic disposable gloves. Mix Poli Strip Liquid Concentrate with 2 parts water to 1 part concentrate in a spray bottle or pump up sprayer. Spray Poli Strip on a 4-5 square foot area, move around a scrub pad, and rinse off thoroughly with clean water.
CAN POLI GLOW BE USED OVER PAINTED SURFACES?
We do not recommend to use any of our products over new or shiny painted surfaces. All of our pre-cleaners are very aggressive and will dull new or shiny paint. If the paint is already faded and dull, we highly recommend to test the Poli Prep on a small section to make sure that it is compatible with the paint. Please be careful while scrubbing on surfaces where the paint is peeling or flaking as the cleaners and scrub pad will remove more of the paint.
WHAT CAN BE USED TO CLEAN HEAVY OXIDATION, STAINS, AND BLACK STREAKS?
Use Poli Prep first to clean the area as best as possible, then use Poli Ox to treat any stubborn spots. Poli Ox is a heavy duty cleanser that will treat and remove oxidation, stubborn stains, and black streaks.
WHAT IF POLI PREP AND POLI OX DID NOT REMOVE ALL OF THE OXIDATION?
Some times oxidation is so heavy, especially on darker colors, that Poli Prep and Poli Ox are not strong enough to remove it. The removal of oxidation is one of the most important steps in fiberglass restoration. We have found that using 3M ultra fine sanding sponge, which is equivalent to 1200 wet and dry sandpaper, works great on those really tough spots. The fiberglass needs to be uniform in color, with no oxidation. If you are still having problems removing the oxidation, please call our office at 772-595-5755.
